Bribery scandal- Police detain lawan and associate

To the surprise of many, the embattled chairman of subsidy committee Hon Farouk Lawan surrendered himself to the police over the alleged $620,000 bribery scandal. He was subsequently detained along with his clerk, Boniface Emenalo.He was quizzed four several hours by the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Special Task Force STF, Ali Ahmadu.Otedoda who claimed that Lawan demanded and received the money, being part of a $3m bribe deal, which was aimed at removing his company from the list indited for probe. Source had it that Lawan called Otedolas about 16 times but the committee members said they knew nothing about it.He has also be denied bail pending on the time the investigation would be completed.President GEJ has denied knowing anything about the case and has promise to bring the culprit to the book. Presient of the Federal House of Representative has also promised a live transmission of the proceedings on this case today, 15th of June.
